ROY
b.1962, American
Towers of Pittsburgh, 2002
fabricated and oxidized brass and copper, wood, electronics engineered by David Parlour, smoke fluid, light

ROY is a jeweler and silversmith. Using brass, iron and steel, she creates a small, precisionist, industrial landscape. But instead of welding her materials she uses the precious soldering metals of the silversmith. The sound of industrial energy is incorporated into the piece and a trail of white smoke intermittently escapes from a smokestack.
